About the Artist
The White Crowe is the fine art studio of Lauren Crowe, a relief printmaker based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Each original print is handcrafted from a carved block, created with archival materials, and published in limited editions.

Crowe’s passion for nature and hands-on creativity began in her childhood, exploring the forests of the nearby Smoky Mountains with her dad and embracing every chance to create with her hands. This early connection to both the natural world and artistic expression deepened over time and led her to study graphic design at Appalachian State University. It was there that she discovered relief printmaking—a process that instantly captivated her and offered a fulfilling balance between digital design and traditional craft. After earning her BFA in graphic design in 2016, Crowe worked for five years as a designer at a humanitarian nonprofit while steadily honing her printmaking skills. In 2023, she made the leap to pursue printmaking as a full time career.

Her art practice reflects a slow, intentional process that celebrates texture, layering, and the handmade variations that give each piece its unique character. Rooted in the rural landscape around her, she finds grounding and healing in both the creative process and the natural world—an experience she hopes to share through her work, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the places and memories that bring them peace.
